To commemorate the accomplishments of the late Jean Thompson Lake, the Troy Arts Council has established the Jean Lake Memorial Art Scholarship. The scholarship, in the amount of $1000 is awarded annually to a graduating senior from a high school in the City of Troy or Pike County. The student must be planning a career in Visual Arts or Art Education and must use the scholarship within two years after graduating from high school.
Pictured here is Joel Williams, member of TAC, presenting a scholarship check to Kaylee Parker. The Troy Arts Council assists the music/band, art, and theatre programs in the Troy and Pike County schools with mini grants to help purchase supplies or equipment. These grants are made available yearly on a rotational bases and must be requested in writing.
The amount awarded is determined by the Troy Arts Council Board of Directors and is based on the needs of each school.
